The Outdoors Show is back, and with a stunning speaker lineup and lots to see and do, it is set to be better than ever. Returning again to halls 1 and 2 of the NEC, Birmingham; the show will be packed with around 250 exhibitors, famous celebrity speakers, dozens of attractions (many of which are ‘have a go’ activities) and three participation events. Co-locating alongside the show is the exciting new show, TriLive 2010, aimed at both experienced and first time triathletes it is the only triathlon show north of London.
Inspiring Visitors
The Outdoors Show is all about inspiring visitors to challenge themselves in their own outdoors adventures, whether aiming for the heights of a Himalayan peak or simply learning to use a map and compass. The celebrity speaker sessions at the show are a key source of this inspiration and with the show’s strongest lineup ever are set to be hottest tickets in town. Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Kate Humble, James Cracknell, Ben Fogle, Simon King and Doug Scott plus more to be confirmed all will be taking up their place on the main stage to share their tales of adventure.
Meet your Customers
One of the main attractions for the show’s 30,000 plus visitors is the opportunity to see the latest kit and get advice from experts on what best suits their needs. Many show exhibitors find this opportunity to meet their end users face to face invaluable, leading to ongoing brand loyalty and purchasing. With clothing, tents, navigation, footwear, backpacks, camping accessories, safety and emergency gear and so much more, visitors will be sure to find everything they may need for their forthcoming outdoor adventures.
Spectacular Visitors Attractions
The unique show features at The Outdoors Show always draw large crowds and give visitors an experience they can’t get on the high street or the hills. The excitement they generate gives exhibitors the chance to reach new customers just when their enthusiasm for outdoors pursuits is at a peak.
Now in it’s third year, the SkyMasters climbing competition is now recognised as the most exciting climbing comp in the UK and has even developed it’s own category of competition: “Speedificulty”. Elite climbers will once again scale the dizzy heights of the NEC whilst racing head to head over the unique SkyMasters climbing wall. Keen amateur climbers will also be able to take part in Climbing Masterclasses; hosted by current British leading champion and British bouldering team coach Gaz Parry.
The Wilderness Camp, sponsored by Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine will include ‘have a go’ activities including firelighting and axe forging, as well as talks and demos from bushcraft experts Ian Maxwell, the worlds best animal tracker and Tristan Gooley, an expert in natural navigation plus much more.
The Walking Zone
The Fit For Comfort Walking Zone is designed to provide a textural and foot-feel area, in which to trial walking boots, insoles and custom fitting options from leading footwear providers. Not stopping there it will also host the Cicerone Walking Stage in which respected walking authors Kev Reynolds, Paddy Dillon and Pete Hawkins are already confirmed to speak. There are various opportunities available for exhibitors to be involved with this feature and to reach the show’s core audience of keen walkers and hikers.
Getting the UK Active!
The organisers of The Outdoors Show believe passionately in the benefits of an active lifestyle and visitors will be able to combine their trip to the show with competing three fantastic events; The Outdoors Show 100 Bike Ride in aid of Action Medical Research, The Outdoors Show Run and The TriLive Duathlon. All three events are taking place across the weekend and there is something for individuals of any level to participate in. By boosting participation in outdoors activities, the show is continuing to support the industry and add to the growing number of outdoors enthusiasts.
